What is immunotherapy?
Is the use of components of the immune system, the patient’s own or prepared in the laboratory (Microdoses or dilutions), for the treatment of diseases of the immune system.
Immunotherapy is used as an adjunct to the treatment of pathologies, which have primary or acquired immunodeficiency (AIDS) or those associated with cancer treatments such as chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
Within immunotherapy we also find treatments that help us modulate the immune system, both in autoimmunity and in the exaggerated responses of hypersensitivity in allergies and asthma among others.
What is the Clinical Immunology Service?
In our clinical immunology and immunotherapy service Siloé Clinic, we are dedicated to the study and treatment of diseases, due to disorders of the immune system, as well as those associated with other organic systems.
These diseases make it impossible for us to defend ourselves adequately against microorganisms and toxins both from the outside and from the body itself.
These pathologies can also be the cause of attacks by components of our immune system to the body itself.
These disorders can be divided into three main categories:
Immunodeficiency : In which the components of the immune system fail to provide an adequate response, for example: AIDS, Primary Immunodeficiency among others. In which the components of the immune system fail to provide an adequate response, for example: AIDS, Primary Immunodeficiency among others.
Autoimmunity : In which the immune system attacks the body’s own cells and tissues (eg. systemic erythematosus, rheumatoid arthritis , Hashimoto’s disease and miastenia gravis).
Hypersensitivity: In these disorders the system responds inappropriately to harmless components (asma and others allergies) or responds with excessive intensity.
What is Diagnostic Immunology?
We have advanced diagnostic techniques, which allow us to know the status of the immune system of our patients.
- “The antigen antibody binding specificity has created an excellent tool in the detection of substances, in a variety of diagnostic techniques”.
- We perform test of food intolerances , in order to diagnose and prevent these disorders, which are increasingly frequent and are associated with the poor response of our immune system, compromising other systems such as the digestive system itself.
- In addition to the basic analyses on the state of the cellular system (Lymphocytes, Monocytes etc.) and humoral(Antibodies), with advanced lymphocyte and senescence profiles , we can see the degree of activity or deterioration of our immune system, as well as our level of aging .
Associated with these studies we carry out latest generation genetic studies , such as the study of The telomeres that are DNA chains that are found on our chromosomes and are naturally shortened over time, but stressful factors (stress, anxiety, depression and trauma etc.).); in addition to diseases such as cancer, diabetes, arthritis or hypertension reduce these chains, allowing us to know the state of our aging process and the quality of response and recovery of the person..
According to recent research: “Accelerated shortening of telomeres can indicate vulnerability to disease, premature aging, and even death.
This helps us to an comprehensive diagnosis and allows us to propose treatments, in the field of regenerative medicine and anti-aging. As the use of powerful antioxidants (vitamins, amino acids, enzymes and trace elements among others), which, along with immunotherapy, cell therapy, adequate nutrition and healthy lifestyle habits, allows us to detoxify and revitalize our tissues and our body, providing us with excellent health.
