The types of Alopecia

There are several diseases that affect the hair and scalp, among the most common is alopecia.

The loss of hair or alopecia can occur anywhere on the body, if this occurs on the scalp is called baldness. The most common types of alopecia are:

 

  • Androgenic Alopecia: can affect up to 80% of men and half of women , has hormonal and hereditary causes. Hair loss can begin at any age, even during puberty or adolescence, but is more common after 50 to 60 years.

  • Alopecia areata: this hair loss is less common and the pattern of hair loss is in the form of tufts in different areas , is usually related to systemic disorders with high fever, autoimmune diseases such as systemic lupus erythematosus; some hormonal and nutritional disorders, as well as some drugs, infections and stress.

Capillary diagnosis

By means of microscopy techniques and capillary analysis we study the real state of the hair and the prognosis in each case, in addition we make a complete diagnosis of the general health of the patient and the factors that can be related to the pathologies found, with the purpose of giving integral and lasting solutions.

Our Hair Treatments

  • Hair stimulation with mesotherapy

Through subdermal injection of nutrients, vitamins and trace elements > growth and development of hair follicles and scalp is stimulated.

  • PRP therapy (autologous plasma)

Through injection of tissue growth factors obtained from the patient’s blood plasma , the regeneration of hair follicles is stimulated, combating hair loss and promoting the appearance of new follicles.

  • Stem cell therapy

We use the most advanced technology in the implantation of stem cells from the patient’s own fat , as well as follicular stem cells extracted from recipient areas of the scalp . The application of these cells achieves the strengthening and appearance of new hair, through its tissue regenerating action.
This technique can be used independently or combined with hair transplantation , with the aim of achieving better and more lasting results.

  • Capillary transplant

The FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) technique consisting of removal of hair follicles from the patient’s own donor areas , located at the back and side of the head.

This advanced hair transplant technique allows us to implant the individually extracted hair follicles in the recipient areas , using microinsitions that heal quickly and leave no visible scars afterwards.

Once these follicles are implanted the hormonal and enzymatic action causes these follicles to remain healthy and grow normally.

The combination of this technique with the application of PRP (autologous plasma with its growth factors), as well as fat stem cells and follicular stem cells from the donor area , not only stimulate follicle growth, but also reduces the concentration of androgens such as testosterone in the tissue, increasing vascularization and therefore blood flow, decreasing inflammation, preventing hair loss and getting better and longer lasting results in our patients.

These procedures are performed under alocal anaesthesia and sedation, in order to avoid pain and discomfort to our patients.
